week 003 ... planing and blocking methods

Oh boy what a bouncing-week ... So many homework, work at Animation-School and there were some bad teeths to medicate on friday. So i had to do it all quite quick. But overall i'm happy with my assignment for week 003 and i'm still quite ecxited. Animation-Mentor is best place i could ever imagine to learn animation the right way. So check it out and feel free to comment and critic the doodles and renders. Thank you very much!

Sketchbook 02 - Drawing human-like poses showing "excitement" ...

Sketchbook 03 - Stu-pose "excitement"

Sketchbook 01 - planing and thumpnailing the first bouncing-ball-animation (topic was to animate a basketball/soccer-ball, actually without S&S ... but i couldn't help it to use just a tiny squash)

My animation (just click on the image to open the movie) Teachers-critique at the end was to hold the ball after hitting the rim just for 1-2 frames longer in the air, and give each bounce i little bit more speed-up. But overall he was happy with it.

week 002 ... poses and 12 principles

As you can see .. My very first AM-assigment. I took it quite seriously and went out to public places (as my assigment told me). I'm quite sure all of you know how hard it is to catch the right pose of people just walking by. You have to be so quick but that's the point: it sharpens the eye. I know my decision is not the most strongest pose ever drawn, but it impressed me the most. Old man, every step carefully taken and so slow that he might need 10min for getting the train. Feel free to leave comments! thank you very much!

On Wednesday i had my second Q&A (question and answering) and i deliberatly clotheed myself with the best dress i have and boy that make-up took hours to suit me right ... but ... then the internet striked and our mentor Chris had big trouble finding a place where to talk to us. So ... i started crying and the whole mess ran over my face ... ;)

just kidding ...

week 001

First of all:

Animation-Mentor ROCKS!!!!!!!! Boy there's so much energy and power behind that program. It's like a roller coaster and i'm totaly freaked out and curious about the next loops. There's is absolutly no question about motivation `course almost all students are doin not just good, no, they are doin' great! So many damn good character-animations i've seen. Everybody i was talking to (especially my mentor Chris Chua) was absolutly helpful and open minded. So i had a great warm welcome! I'm allready addicted and i've decided to put all my other interests into a drawer for 18months except animation and acting. I bought me a book called "The technique of Acting" by Stella Adler and although i haven't finished it yet i got some great advices out of it. If anybody is interested i can tell more about it. Anyway ... for next week i got my first "real" assignment: "drawing poses" I'm sure that gonna be fun. So hear me sharping my pencils and better hide otherwise you gonna get captured!
