week 012 ... term 1 is finished

click on image to watch the reel

Unbelievable ... 3 months over, means my first term is finished. I've worked hard and all the shots, Stu (the Ball-head-character) - poses and some scribbles can be seen by watching my reel above. I just want to add that this school is fantastic and although i'm really looking forward for the next 2 weeks which are free i'm really curious about the next term. So thanks to all my class-mates and my incredible mentor Chris Chua! I also want to say special thanks to Sebastian Hofmann, a really gifted animation-supervisor and my first mentor at Animationsfabrik GmbH. You rock man! So have fun watching the reel and leave me unmercyful kind critiques and comments ;) ...

See you next year

week 011 ... in-depth look at hips

Wuah ... i'm so bad in updating but there we go ... last assignment week of term 1. My mentor Chris Chua didn't like my shot called "sad-walk" so i renamed it (look above). Actually i'm pretty happy with what i did and this is not so easy. So just have a look yourself and take care everybody!

week 009 ... exaggeration and weight

Topic this week: actually just polishing that walk. I can say i did some walks before but i never had such a hard time. The task was to animate a vanilla-walk. No cartoony stuff or personality should be shown. Just a normal (human like) walk. I thought "uh easy one" but i was wrong, that were actually the hardest 48 frames i've ever animated and i'm still not happy. But check yourself.

week 007 ... arcs and path of action

Topic this week: arcs and path of action. We could decide between 2 different assignments and actually i didn't planned to do both but then i had a lucky shot with the one-leg jump and time after that to animate tailor else well. Have fun watching it!

week 006 ... overlapping action

Topic this week: Overlaps. I made it myself a bit hard and animated that damn pendulum so quick that i had no fun at the end and got my badest grade for that. But anyways it's not that bad to challenge yourself but just have a look.
